Scoliosis / Kyphosis
Some patients will develop abnormal curvature of the spine, either out to one or both sides (scoliosis), or with accentuated curves front to back (kyphosis), especially in the thoracic spine. This can cause nerve compression and pain in the supporting joints and ligaments.
Injection techniques to decompress irritated nerves (epidural steroid injection, selective nerve injections), reduce pain from the facet joints and associated ligaments (Radiofrequency Neurotomy), or to strengthen ligaments (Prolotherapy), physical therapy, and surgery may be needed.
